TREATING CHRONIC PAIN

Chronic Pain Management: Our Combined Approach

Chronic pain is usually defined as pain that affects someone frequently for three months or more. Most of us will experience pain at some time or another whether it be a pulled muscle, strained joint or even a headache but usually this heals and the pain goes away. Sometimes there is no obvious cause for the onset of chronic pain but a health condition or an injury is usually the initial trigger.

Chronic pain is caused by disrupted nerve signals between the brain and the injured area. An injury or a health condition is a common trigger for chronic pain, especially when there is no apparent cause.

As part of our approach, we investigate whether there are any other factors underlying the condition that causes chronic pain. A tailored plan is formulated that includes chronic pain management education, and lifestyle changes to reduce pain without the need for medication or invasive procedures. We use various gentle hands-on therapies to help the body relax and let you feel more settled. Your treatment plan may include osteopathy, physiotherapy, massage or acupuncture.

Having a chronic pain condition is frustrating and can have a significant impact on your life. We are here to help you get relief by giving you the tools and treatment to reduce your pain and move again.
